The horned toad or horny toad is really not an amphibian (or frog), but is a reptile lizard that is found only in a few places in the state of Texas and in some pockets of the surrounding states. It has spiked scales somewhat like the ones portrayed in these pictures. Somewhere around thirty years ago the Texas horny toad was seen readily in this area, but now it is on the threatened list due to modernization, imported fire ants, and insecticides. It is actually illegal to keep a live horny toad, but desirable and encouraged to keep one of our unique metal toads.


Be assured, there are many choices available in different colors, styles & modalities. We do have the ability to personalize the script on the metal work if so desired. Customized lettering is also an option upon request at additional cost.
